Teresa Sajkowski RN BSN CHPN - Owner, President & Founder


  “I became a nurse because I absolutely love to help people. It brings me so much satisfaction and joy to know that I am making a difference in someone else's life.” When Teresa was just 18 years old, she began her career as a caregiver.  She gained invaluable knowledge through these early experiences and found her true calling and passion, caring for others.  Teresa attended Brookdale College and Rutger's University and Graduated in 2002 with honors with her Registered Nurse degree and licensure. With over 12 years of home care, community, and hospice nursing experience, Teresa quickly saw a need for quality care that allowed clients the freedom, comfort, and privacy, of staying in their own home. She saw that one of the greatest needs was finding qualified, skilled, and compassionate caregivers that would regularly exceed client’s expectations. Teresa established Independence Home Care in 2010 and began her mission to provide the best quality care in the industry. Teresa created Independence Home Care to pursue her passion for helping others and to raise the bar of the standards of care. It is always her goal provide a truly personal and exceptional home care experience for each and every client. “At Independence Home Care we not only want to meet a client’s needs and expectations, we want to exceed them.”   Teresa has handpicked each of her staff and has employed an impeccably selective caregiver screening and exclusive training program.  She is directly involved with the care of each and every client. “We are a family company and we care for our clients as we would care for a member of our own family.” Under Teresa’s exceptional leadership, Independence Home Care has become a known leader in the home care industry in the state of New Jersey.

Teresa is a loving wife and mother of 3 boys.  She is an avid reader and loves to garden, cook, and spend time with her family.

Vincent Sajkowski - Owner & CFO

“Since we are a family owned and operated business, I view our clients as an extension of my own family in that I want to make sure they are happy with the care we provide and that each client knows that we strive to make it a rewarding experience from the first day we step into their lives.” Vincent brings many years of experience with him to Independence Home Care.  He has worked for over 10 years in the customer service and professional home care industry. He joined his wife Teresa at Independence Home Care to make a true impact in the lives of the clients they serve. “I enjoy working with our clients and their families.  It brings a sense of comfort knowing that our services help people live a more enjoyable life.” Vincent spends much of his time meeting with clients and their families and managing office operations.   His top priority is ensuring that everything runs smoothly both in the office and in our client’s homes where staff are providing services. “Our doors are always open to our clients and their families if at any time they should have any concerns or questions. Providing the best care in the home care industry and the highest level of customer service is our absolute goal.” Vincent spends his free time with his 3 boys and his wife.  He enjoys outdoor sports and photography.  He also enjoys volunteering his time with sporting events for his children.
Lisa Campbell - Human Resource Generalist

“I take pride in my job and love that I am able to help clients, families, and staff.” Lisa went to Rutgers University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. She enjoys working as an Human Resources Generalist because she gets to interact with all employees and assist them to make decisions to ensure they're happy with their employment. Lisa enjoys working with new employees and introducing them to Independence Home Care.  She has a kind and caring way of explaining all of our polices and procedures to ensure that all of our staff are trained to the highest standards. She takes pride in her hiring ability and loves when a new member is added to the Independence Home Care team. Lisa is a great resource for fellow staff and clients as well. Lisa enjoys fitness, travel, hiking, and outdoor activities with her family.
Maggie Welsh - Community Education Liaison

With over 12 years of experience in Sales and community liaison work, Maggie is an integral part of the Independence Home Care team.  She loves helping people find the care they need to allow them to stay in their own homes. I feel good knowing I'm promoting a service that truly helps people in need, especially helping individuals local to our area.  It's very gratifying to be able to utilize my skills in a way that can help make a difference in a person’s life. “   Maggie chose to continue her career here at Independence Home Care because it is a family-owned and operated company that takes a great deal of pride in the level of service they provide. They take the time to really get to know each and every client.” Maggie believes Independence Home Care fosters a strong team environment and is proud to be representing the company in the community. Maggie is a wife and mother of three children.  She is involved in the PTA and has coached recreation girls' softball. She enjoys skiing, outdoor sports, and spending time with her family.
Jessica Archer - Client Care Manager

 “As an employee of Independence Home Care, I enjoy having the opportunity to assist families and their loved in receiving top-notch care, along with unconditional companionship from our staff and caregivers.” Jessica comes from a background of working in health care as an administrative assistant for over 7 years. She is very dedicated and passionate in her field of work, and strives to advance her knowledge and skills in all areas. In 2012, Jessica received her Bachelors degree in Psychology, along with a minor in Social Work, from Rider University. During her college career she has interned at Drenk Behavioral Health Center, working with children up to 18 years of age who have emotional and behavioral disturbances, as well as volunteering at CONTACT of Mercer County, a suicide prevention hotline. Most recently, in May 2014, she received her EMT certification through Capital Health Systems and currently is a volunteer member for Allentown First Aid Squad. Everything she does involves the helping and bettering of others. “I’m excited to be a part of the Independence Home Care team because together we are providing an added level of assistance and services to our clients.” In her spare time she enjoys visiting local wineries and breweries, photography, and traveling.
Kelly Aylward - Client Care Coordinator

 “Being part of the Homecare Industry has allowed me to follow my passion of making a difference in the lives of others” Kelly has over 5 years of experience in the home healthcare industry. Her experience has brought her here to Independence Home Care where her wealth of knowledge and passion for her work make her an essential part of the team.  Kelly is an expert with client and caregiver matching and always puts her best effort forth when assisting clients. She loves her interaction with clients and caregivers and is always there to do what she can to make a positive difference. “Working at Independence Home Care allows me to work with people who have a vision for growth and success. I feel empowered working with such a positive team, who is driven everyday to exceed our client’s expectations. I can truly say I love what I do” Outside of work, Kelly loves spending time with her 2 daughters. She also enjoys outdoor activities with her family and friends.
Nicole McCoach - Client Care Coordinator

“Making a true difference in the lives of people in the community is what drew me to the home care industry.  It is such a pleasure to talk with clients and their families and to assist them in getting the care they need right in their own home.  There is no better feeling than being able to make a positive difference in the lives of others.” Nicole has over 20 years of professional management and customer service experience.   Being exposed to the health care field and assisting in caring for family members at a young age peaked Nicole’s interest in the industry.  Nicole brings her exceptional managerial skills as well as a genuine caring and compassionate personality to the team at Independence Home Care. She brings an enthusiastic passion for helping others and is always a friendly voice on the phone for clients and staff.  Nicole plays an integral role in ensuring that the clients of Independence Home Care receive the absolute best care possible.  She takes great pride in her work and is proud to work for a company that she believes truly gives back to the community. Nicole is a married mother of two children who enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.
Elizabeth Conti RN BSN - Home Care Supervisor

“I believe nursing is a calling and I take great pride in the fact that I can help make a difference in a family’s life.”   Elizabeth has been a registered nurse for over 17 years. She began her career working with Dr. Rothman in Orthopedics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and has since gained experience in many different areas of the nursing field.   Elizabeth made the move to community based nursing out of her love for helping clients and their families.  “Home care is a more personal side of nursing because you see clients in their home setting and are able to really focus on them and give them your time and care. I am blessed in my life to have very a loving and involved family and I try to treat every client with the same love, compassion and respect that I would my own family.” Elizabeth joined Independence Home Care to be part of a company that truly helps people and where everyone's individual talents are appreciated and encouraged. She is an essential part of the Independence Home Care team where her knowledge as a nurse and her compassion as a person truly shine. Elizabeth is happily married and has 4 children. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, playing sports, cooking, and watching movies.
Eileen Jansson RN - Home Care Supervisor

“I always knew that I wanted to be a nurse. Caring for others has been a lifelong passion.” Eileen graduated Nursing School-UMDNJ in May 2001.  Eileen brings many years of varied nursing experience to her role at Independence Home Care including adult cardiology and cardiac surgery, child and adolescent nursing, school nursing, and child and adult home care. Eileen believes that nursing has been moving from the hospital to the home for many years and she truly enjoys meeting clients and helping them to remain in their own homes. Developing a bond with her clients and ensuring that their needs are met is her top priority.  Eileen believes in enriching her knowledge with ongoing education and is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Nursing at Rutgers University. Eileen is married to her high school sweetheart and we has three grown children.  In her spare time she is an avid reader, enjoys gardening and cooking.
Samantha Piedmont RN - Home Care Supervisor

“I enjoy all different aspects of my work as a nurse and could not imagine doing anything else. I love home care nursing as I know the great importance of having a good caregiver.” Samantha has over 12 years of varied experience as a Registered Nurse. She spent many years of her career working at Robert Wood Johnson caring for teens and adults. She is a graduate of Brookdale Community College and is a current student at Rutgers University pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Having experienced the need for home care for her own loved one, Samantha saw first-hand how important good care at home truly was. She is a skilled and compassionate nurse and brings her love of caring for others to the team at Independence Home Care. When Sam is not working she enjoys running and training for marathons and doing cross fit. She enjoys staying in shape so she can keep up with her three children Frankie, Madison, and Lucia. She has a wonderful loving husband and two dogs.

Independence Home Care was founded in 2010 by Teresa, Vincent and their family who have a combined total of over 75 years of professional Home Care experience. Together we have created Independence Home Care to improve home health care and to allow our clients to remain independent in the privacy and comfort of their own home.

With the owners of the company directly involved in the care for our clients, we provide a more compassionate hands-on-approach. We pride ourselves on hard work, honesty, and communication.
